Gendered disinformation fuels harmful myths, undermining the safety and credibility of women and gender minorities. What may seem like a harmless “joke” can lead to real-world harm, from harassment to physical threats.
The truth: Gendered disinformation has severe consequences, causing emotional distress, career damage, and even violence. Yet, many still say, “We can’t do anything.” In reality, action is needed to hold platforms accountable, support victims, and tackle this growing issue.
It’s time for a global response to stop online harassment and protect everyone’s right to safety and dignity online. Let’s take action.
